 It was a visit that I had eagerly waited for, for many years, and it finally came to happen on 20th August 2015. I had waited for more than fifteen years to visit the national museum at the California. It’s a day that I memorized everything that took place and I can’t dare forget all the activities that went on. By August this year, I was lucky enough to join my classmates to the national museum. One of our instructors organized the trip to the museum, and we were to contribute some amount of money towards it.

Before deciding on which museum to visit, we had sent some representatives to several museums to investigate whether they met our expectations (Thomson, 2014). On top of that, because we had interest we went on to researched from the internet, the best foundation in terms of our expectations. Most of the class members chose the national one at California, and we had no choice rather than to accept. We found that the national museum had all the items we needed for our learning, and it was convenient for us.

When the day of visiting came, we all gathered at the school bus, and the long awaited journey kicked off. Almost three-quarters of the class had not visited the museum, so it was such a big day for us who had not visited before. On arriving, we were so excited to have a new experience and in such a museum. It was our day to learn more and practically what we used to be taught in class. We had so many questions to ask the instructor (Ius, 2008).

We were taken to the section of where historical items were kept. We were shown how man evolved up to date how he is. It was so interesting to know that man came from the monkey, and he developed till the tail existed no more. Also the walking style of a man changed with his body development, till he stood upright. From the class, it was evident that man evolved from the monkey and developed into stages until finally he was called a man.

Then next we were taken to the section of tools that during the evolvement, the man used to do different activities. There were spears that he used to multitask in different works. The spear was used as a firearm from enemies, cultivating tool and also to hunt wild animals. Not only spears were there but also animal skins were on shelves. During evolvement, a man used the skin to decorate the caves where he used to live and also to hide nakedness. It was so interesting to be shown how the skin was used as a cloth.

Comparing what was kept in the museum concerning how man evolved with what we were learning in class, it was all the same but that time it was more practical than theory work. All through those explanations we were taking notes down for what we had seen and relate to theory work (Northrop, 2010). Later we visited the area where snakes were kept. It was so amazing to see 12 meters long snake kept in a house of glass.

The visit was so nice since we were enlightened on so many ancient things and the importance to save items for future. It’s right and advisable for able societies to locate such historic site where they can be assessed since many will learn a lot. This will make the culture be kept for future generation.
