Task 3 Report 
Assessment Description and Requirements
The practical assessment for this unit requires you to develop and promote goods and services to other international students.  Promotional or marketing activities must be undertaken for any product or service. The success or failure of the promotion often hinges on the research and planning that has preceded the promotion.

In this assessment, you must:
identify a product or service that you would like to promote
analyse/research past promotional activities for this product or service
identify an audience for the promotion (other international students) 
develop a marketing strategy for the promotion
prepare a report that summarises your strategy and its success or failure. 

You may chose any product or service for your promotion. But remember you must obtain feedback from your target market (other international students). A product or service that is targeted at your target market (other international students) will ensure you have easy access for interviews, surveys and promotions.
Procedure
Plan Promotional Activities

In this step, you will research a product or service, analyse the need for further promotional activities and plan promotional activities.
Identify a product or service you will promote. Seek approval from your trainer.
Describe the product or service and conduct a SWOT analysis of the product or service. (413A 1.2; 414A 1.1, RK3)
Describe the current and past promotional activities for the product or service. (414A 1.2, 1.5; 413A RK2) 
Describe the proposed target market including the key demographic information of the target market. (414A 1.5)
Explain why there is a need for further promotional activities. (414A 1.1)
Next you need to consider how you will promote the product or service. Some of the promotional activities you may wish to consider include but are not limited to:
Advertisements
Creation of Web pages
Presentations to classes
Sales Promotion
Samples
Competitions
Distribution of general promotional and informational material
Development of displays and signs
Describe the promotional activity you will undertake for your product or service. For this promotional activity:
Conduct a SWOT analysis of the promotional activity. (414A 1.5) 
Describe why this promotional activity will be effective, include characteristic of your target market.

Coordinate, Implement and Manage Promotional Activities

In this step, you will prepare an action plan to implement the promotional activity. The action plan will include costs, budgets, timelines and personnel. You will then create your promotional materials and implement your promotional plan.
Prepare a budget for your promotional activity. The budget must include all costs associations with the promotional activity including materials costs, resources and personnel hours. (413A 1.4, 2.1, RS4, RK3; 414A 2.1)
Develop and document a detailed work activity plan for the promotional activity. The work activity plan must list all of the promotional goals and all of the steps required to meet the goals. The work activity plan must include a specific timeline for each of the steps. (413A 1.4, 1.5, RS4, RK2, 3; 414A 1.6, RS2, 3)
Assign and document the roles and responsibilities of the team for implementing the work activity plan of the promotional activity. (413A 2.2; 414A 2.3)
Describe how you will monitor the promotional activity. (414A 2.4)
Implement the promotional activity. Include all promotional materials you created in your final report. Promotional materials can include:
Brochures
Displays
Websites
Emails
Functions
Remember to conduct the promotional activity in a manner which enhances the positive image of the organisation (both ILSC and the product or service). (413A 2.3, 2.4, RS3; 414A 2.2)

Review and Report on Promotional Activities

In this step, you will analyse and summarise the outcomes of your promotional activity then make recommendation on future promotional activities.
Assess the effectiveness of your work action plan. How could it be improved? (413A 3.2)
Design a survey to collect feedback from the target market on the promotional activity. Include the survey in your report. Analyse the feedback and summarise your conclusions based on the feedback. (413A 3.1, 3.3)
Measure and document the outcomes of the promotional activity. (414A 3.1)
Compare the promotional activity objectives, costs and timelines against the outcomes. Was the promotional activity successful or not? Why? Based on the outcomes of the promotional activity, what conclusions and recommendation do you have for future promotional activities? (413A 3.2, 3.5; 414A 3.2, 3.3)
